The AWS Cloud/Devops Engineer will be working with the engineering team and focusing on AWS
infrastructure and automation. A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as
code. The Engineer will work closely with the Manager of Operations and Devops to build,
manage and automate our AWS infrastructure.

Technical Skill-set/Responsibilities

● Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
● Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements
● Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products
● Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment
requirements
● Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code
● Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
● Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems
● Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
● Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS
infrastructure and systems
● Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance
● Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
● Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security
solutions.
● Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS
platform.
● Work with team and customers to troubleshoot tough customer environments and
increasing customer satisfaction
● Developing tools and processes to improve the overall customer experiences and create
playbooks
● Interact with team members to improve our engineers’ tools, technology stack, and
application performance and stability
● Maintain documentation describing processes and system requirements for all systems

Qualifications

● At least 4-8 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3)
● Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
● Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
● Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language
● Automation experience in at least one configuration management and deployment tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Google deployment Manager, etc
● Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with CloudFormation or Terraform
● Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK and deploying applications on AWS
● Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
● Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
● Strong bias for action and ownership
● Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations.
● Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
● Process-oriented with great documentation skills
