Job Summary:
We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer / Database Administrator (DBA) to own the design, performance, and scalability of our data systems. This role combines deep technical expertise in SQL, AWS infrastructure, and ETL pipelines with hands-on leadership in data operations and optimization. The ideal candidate is passionate about data integrity, performance tuning, and building scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions that power business insights.
As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, guide data engineering best practices, and ensure the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure and warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows to support analytics,
reporting, and production systems. -
Manage and optimize AWS-based data infrastructure (RDS, S3, EC2, IAM).

Lead database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization to ensure
system reliability and scalability. -
Oversee data quality, integrity, and validation processes across multiple environments.

Troubleshoot database and data workflow issues proactively, ensuring minimal downtime.

Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and product teams to define and execute data
strategies. -
Drive automation and process improvements for database operations and monitoring.

Mentor and guide junior data engineers and DBAs in best practices.
Primary Skills:
-
Strong expertise in SQL (performance tuning, indexing, query optimization).

Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure (RDS, S3, EC2, IAM).

Proven ability to design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines and data workflows.

Experience managing production and warehouse databases in a high-volume environment.

Solid understanding of data integrity, quality, and performance troubleshooting.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
Secondary Skills:
-
Experience integrating or supporting BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Yellowfin.

5+ years of experience in data engineering, data infrastructure, or DBA roles.

Experience leading or mentoring data engineers.
Nice to Have:

Familiarity with data workflow tools (dbt, Airflow).

Experience using Python for automation or ETL scripting.

Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

Prior experience in a team lead or architecture capacity.

Exposure to AWS cost optimization and scalable data solution design.

Experience in data platform modernization or migration projects. ​
