Job Summary:
We are building a new AI-focused development team for one of our enterprise products in the test management domain—and we’re looking for an experienced PHP Architect to provide technical leadership for this initiative. In this role, you’ll design and guide the implementation of UI and workflow features that integrate AI capabilities developed by our central AI team. You will own architectural decisions, ensure high-quality design patterns, and mentor developers to deliver maintainable, scalable, and performant PHP-based solutions. This team will also occasionally assist with core defect fixes and product enhancements as part of its ramp-up or when key priorities shift.
Key Responsibilities:

Define and maintain the architecture and technical roadmap for AI-related feature implementations.

Design scalable, maintainable PHP-based systems that integrate with AI services and APIs.

Collaborate closely with the central AI team to understand model interfaces and expose them through intuitive UI workflows.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the software lifecycle.

Review and refactor existing components to align with new feature requirements and best practices.

Drive adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and security best practices.

Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design discussions.

Promote and guide the team in using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure timely resolution.
Required Skills & Experience:
-
8+ years of experience in PHP development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or
architecture role. -
Deep expertise in object-oriented PHP, REST API design, and MVC frameworks (Laravel,
Symfony, or equivalent). -
Proven experience architecting large-scale, enterprise-grade web applications.

Strong understanding of front-end integration (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and UI workflow design.

Proficiency with MySQL/PostgreSQL, caching, and performance tuning.

Hands-on experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD, and agile development practices.

Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).

Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide a distributed team.
Nice to Have:

Experience with test management or QA systems or similar enterprise web applications.

Knowledge of AI integration patterns, webhooks, or microservice architectures.

Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
